Baptism

Baptism is for Christian believers who are regular church members since the vows taken are specifically Christian.

We offer dedication for parents who have no Christian faith but want to thank God for the amazing new addition to their family!

We take a long term view on baptising babies and want people to be included in the life of the church, rather than just the odd occasion. We therefore suggest that those wanting the church to provide this service for them and their children should at least be attending church regularly for 6 months beforehand. Since the vows of baptism are for our church family too, we want the families of infants being baptised to be known and loved by other members as opposed to being strangers.

We also see it as our responsibility to encourage people who have any contact with our church to seriously consider the claims of Christianity, especially if they would like to take explicitly Christian vows, such as in baptism or church membership. We run a course called ‘Christianity Explored'  which encourages people to do this before going any further (click on 'Courses' above).

Please contact the minister if you would like to discuss this matter further...
