Annual Report and Accounts 2020
It’s that time of the year when we present our annual report and accounts for the preceding financial year. These can be viewed in full by clicking on the button at the end of this article. These have been approved by the Kirk Session, and will now be sent to our Independent Examiner for checking.
Given just how challenging this past year has been, we are really grateful for how so many of you have supported us. Our general funds – that is, our normal giving and normal expenditure – shows a deficit for the year of £6,000. That means the funds we hold for these purposes have decreased from £48,000 to £42,000. However, to put this into context, we have increased our restricted funds by a massive £91,000. The vast majority of this is clearly in our building fund which finishes the year with a balance of £162,000.
The good news for 2021 is that both the central Church of Scotland and Edinburgh Presbytery have reduced our contributions required for the year, recognising that a number of congregations have taken a real hit to their finances in the year. This amounts to a reduction of over £4,000 this year which will really help with our ‘balancing of the books’.
As always, our sincere thanks to all of you who faithfully give to our church throughout the year.
