Prayer
Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
We are a church who believe that nothing works without prayer. We pray as a church in lots of ways:
Weekly
- We have a prayer time before the Sunday morning service every week from 10 – 10.30 in our Prayer Room.
- Prayer ministry is offered at the end of every worship service where our prayer team is ready and available to pray with anyone who asks.
Monthly
- On the first Wednesday of each month, we have a prayer meeting in the church at 8pm for one hour. This is an opportunity to spend time praying for the people and ministry of our church.
Quarterly
- We host a day of prayer every quarter on a Saturday. The church is open from 10am to 10pm, with hourly slots available to spend time in our prayer room.
- We enjoy Holy Spirit soaking every quarter on a Saturday from 10am – 12.15pm, led by Pauline – a chance to be soaked by the love, grace and Spirit of God, bringing us stronger faith, fresh hope and complete love.
Ad hoc
Of course, we can pray at any time. We have a prayer team in the church who are ready and willing to pray for those who seek prayer support. You can contact the team either using the email address below or by putting a note of your prayer requests in the prayer box at the back of our church.
You can also contact the Prayer Team by email at pray@comelybankchurch.com
Homegroups
We encourage everyone in our church family to be part of a Homegroup. A homegroup is a smaller group which meets weekly in people’s homes to share bible study, fellowship and friendship. It is a safe space to explore, learn and share with one another, growing together in faith.
We have homegroups which meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and a Ladies homegroup which meets on a Friday morning.
If you would like to join a homegroup, please contact office@comelybankchurch.com
Children & Families
Sunday Club and Creche
The first part of our Sunday worship is for everyone. Part way through the service, the children can leave for their activities, to either:
Creche – for pre-schoolers
Sunday Club – for primary aged children
The service is live streamed into the creche so that parents who choose to stay with their small children do not miss the worship service.
We have volunteers who run both of these sessions and follow a Bible-based plan established by the staff ministry team each year.

Babies and Toddlers
Our Babies and Toddlers Group meets on Thursday mornings during termtime, from 9.30 – 11.15am in our Church Halls. It is open for children up to school age and their parents or carers.
This is a special time for parents to meet other local parents, have a chat and enjoy some downtime while the children can enjoy playing with the toys, listening to stories and singing.
Cost per week is £3 per child and we provide snacks and drinks.

It’s an opportunity for young families to attend our free drop-in session, to connect with other local families and for children to enjoy playing with games and toys. We have lots of activities, crafts and singing, as well as the option to hear stories from the bible. Fen, our Therapet, is usually in attendance too to give you and your family a warm welcome. Clothes and toy donations are collected for the Kids Love Clothes charity.
Snacks and drinks are provided.
