Important Information in view of Coronavirus
As our country has moved to the next phase of shutdown in responding to the Coronavirus pandemic so that lives might be saved, places of worship, including our church have been closed down for an undetermined period. Large gatherings of people even for worship or religious services, are banned. Only funeral service are permitted with the participation of the immediate family. For more information about this please contact a funeral director. We are ready to support you in the difficult time of loss and sorrow.
We offer you our most sincere condolences on your loss.
Losing a loved one can be a difficult time emotionally and practically. We offer you whatever help we can, be it praying for you and your loved ones, offering practical support, or simply by listening to your concerns.
At St. Stephen’s Comely Bank we conduct funerals for all members of our parish, whether they were members of the church or not. As an ordained minister, George is licenced to perform funerals and very experienced in supporting those who are grieving.
Your service can be held at the church itself, followed by burial or cremation, or you can choose to have the full service at the crematorium. There is a set order of service for a funeral, we can help you to choose appropriate hymns and readings if requested.
In return we charge a small fee to cover the costs of the church, church officer and organist.
